The Role: The role is a multi-functional one fitting within a small design team with an expectation that the candidate will regularly utilise a variety of their electronics skills. It is therefore important that well rounded experience within electronic product design can be demonstrated. Job Functions: Design of electronic pressure and fluid level sensors and systemsIntegration of a variety of sensing and recording technologies in support of specific customer requirementsManagement of projects from initial concept through to finished product or system sign offFacilitation of new developments through frequent liaison with production engineers and manufacturing staffSupport of the sales team and other departments through the provision of technical guidance Qualifications: Degree / HND or equivalent in electronic or electrical engineering Experience: Minimum of three years experience gained within a similar environment Essential Skills: Analogue and digital electronics design experienceDesign experience with serial networking protocols: I2C, RS232 / RS485 etcPCB design / layout & EMC complianceDesign for manufacture and assemblyEmbedded micro-controller design experience (8-16 bit)Prototyping and debugging of mixed signal electronic circuits Supplementary Skills: ASIC ProgrammingEmbedded software development, including test and debuggingDesign for ATEX complianceKnowledge of wireless communications (e.g. Zigbee) Personal Description: Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a proactive attitude towards problem solvingA committed team player who is also capable of working alone when necessary under their own initiativeCapable of handling a diverse workload in a busy production environmentWell organised and conscientious with a good eye for detailAdaptable and capable of working with rapidly changing prioritiesComfortable in customer facing situations
