Bridgewater Resources UK are recruiting on behalf of the Electrical Distributors' Association. Formerly known as the Electrical Wholesalers Federation (established in 1914), the EDA was formed in 1998 and represents the biggest names in the electrical wholesale industry. ETIM UK, a member of ETIM International () is to be established in the UK as an initiative of the Electrical Distributors' Association (EDA). They now have a very exciting, challenging and high profile opportunity for a talented and driven Project Manager. The Role ETIM UK is a proposed new product data service for the UK electrical industry. Joining the EDA at an exciting time in the electrical distribution industry, you will drive the UK roll-out of the ETIM Classification model for installed electrical products through the UK supply chain, comprising manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and installers. The ETIM Classification Model is a tried and tested model in use since 1991 and adopted in 13 countries in continental Europe and, more recently, by the USA and Canada. It is used by major manufacturers such as ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, GE Lighting, Philips and wholesalers such as Rexel and Sonepar, to name just a few. The UK has lagged behind other leading markets in its recognition of the importance of structured data in the supply chain and the EDA believes that the ETIM model is a 'must' for the digitisation of the UK electrical installation market. They seek a highly driven and determined Project Manager who will carry out a feasibility study and create and execute a plan for the implementation of the ETIM model in the UK. Reporting to the Director of the EDA, the successful candidate will lead the ETIM UK initiative and take full responsibility for the running of the project including: Liaising with key players in the electrical distribution industry and communicating with representatives from the industry in other countriesAssessing software companies with a view to deciding upon appropriate software tools and applications for the UKConducting a feasibility studyTaking part in European technical committees for the development and maintenance of the ETIM classification modelRunning standardisation committees across various product categories in UKCreating stretching targets for classification of products and delivering on these targetsWorking with EDA Head of Communications to create the ETIM UK website, market the concept and raise awareness in the UK Benefits A high profile role in the industry with full credit given to youExposure across the wider UK electrical installation industry and offers the opportunity for you to really make a markA generous and negotiable basic salaryAbundant support from the EDA Director and Board in making the relevant contacts and connections within the industry Required Skills and Experience You must a focused and proactive individual who: Can demonstrate excellent project management skillsHas a broad knowledge of electrical installation productsIs familiar with ICT and has knowledge and experience of working with large databases (Excel, Access etc.)Has insight into the applicability of classification methods for classifying information and practical experience with digital information processingIs a strong communicator and an active team playerHas the drive and determination to reach a critical mass within a 2 - 3 year timeframeIs able to manage and administer technical groups from across industry sectors to work on data classification standard committeesIs a quick learner - with the ability to gather best practice from European countries where ETIM is now well establishedIs ideally familiar with the UK electrical installation market Application If you think that you have the right experience and personality for this role, then progress your career today by submitting your CV and a covering letter to Bridgewater Resources UK.
