Major Project Services The Major Project Services Design Management Team is WSP|PB UKs main provider of project leaders to its major multi-discipline projects and has performed key leadership roles on landmark projects such as London Bridge Station, The Mall of Egypt, Crossrail Bond Street Station, Zayed National Museum (Abu Dhabi), and The Leadenhall Building as well as numerous other projects both in the UK and internationally. The team has doubled in size over the last two years to twenty five and this growth is expected to continue during 2016/2017 in response to further exciting opportunities for existing and new clients. The team comes from a wide background, with architects, civil, structural and building services engineering providing the team with internal expertise as well as broad experience of public and private sectors. Projects can vary in size and complexity from 100,000 to over 500 million and can involve leading WSP multi-disciplinary teams as the Lead Consultant, providing design management support to internal project teams, to contract administration services and leading technical compliance teams. The team ethos revolves around quality of service providing honest and constructive advice to build long-term relationships with our clients as their trusted advisors. We are therefore looking for energetic, self-motivated individuals with a project leadership background to join our team. We are keen to bring new skills into the team and are open minded about a candidates background provided they can demonstrate relevant experience of hands-on, proactive design project leadership that delivers successful outcomes. Job Summary: To provide planning services on assigned projects Part of teamSupervised by Senior Planning EngineerPlan and prioritise own work to ensure that functional project requirements on scope, time and cost are metSet up the base line plan for assigned projects where appropriate and monitor progress against this plan, so that any problems are recognised promptlyReport on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective actionProactively identify and highlight any progress issues which threaten successful delivery of the project, so that recovery action may be takenWork with the WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff/client values to ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is NA planning experience and skills, moving towards the capability to move to a more senior role and towards professional qualificationRoutinely works to tight deadlines Desired Skills/ Experience: Essential: Minimum HNC/DUnderstanding of planning software and toolsBasic project management skillsCapable of managing own workSignificant relevant experience a in project environmentExcellent communication skillsAbility to work in a team environmentExcellent MS Office skills Preferred: Experience in contracting environment and contracting stylesRelevant design / site experienceAppreciation of Planning and Cost EngineeringExperience of MS Project and/or Primavera softwareAll employees shall familiarise themselves with our health and safety arrangements and guidance relevant to themselves and their activities and shall meet any specific duties for their role as detailed within GNHS020 - Competencies, Roles and Responsibilities.
