Senior Engineer - Harpenden Salary- Circa 31K - 34K (depending on experience)Hours- 37.5 Key words- senior engineer, senior, engineer, building, development, equipment, manufacturing, services, performance, NA client has a hospital situated in Harpenden, central Hertfordshire. It is a premium private Hospital consisting of 79 beds and 5 main theatres, providing a range of treatment to patients in the local NA client supports their staff in career development, and offers a range of both full-time and part-time positions. They are proud to offer staff a welcoming and friendly environment in which to NA are looking to recruit a Senior Engineer who will be responsible for the maintenance of grounds, building fabric, building services and all equipment in a cost effective manner, ensuring compliance with all current National legislation and policies and will ensure a safe environment for all staff and customers. The post holder will be operating in a 24 hour acute hospital setting and will be required to be responsive to a constantly changing environment. Due to the unpredictability and nature of the function, the post holder will on occasion, be required to work outside of normal working NA responsibilities:To plan, develop and implement alongside colleagues a comprehensive, cost effective, planned and preventative maintenance / repair programme for all engineering services / equipment, utilising the network Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). To work closely with the Engineering Administration Lead to ensure safe standards are maintained at all NA commission, record and schedule all new equipment and services for planned maintenance on the network CMMS. Ensure continual update of hospital asset register to keep all plant and equipment visible to the site and the NA an appropriate asset management procedure is in place for all engineering plant and equipment. Work with other departmental managers to ensure an appropriate asset management is in place for all hospital NA identify, prioritise and report engineering infrastructure and compliance risk to your Area Engineer and National Engineering and Estates NA accurate record keeping and easy retrieval filing of documentation for all services and equipment for audit NA plan and develop an annual Engineering Estate`s Plan with department colleagues and senior management to include comprehensive maintenance programme for building NA manage the energy performance of the site ensuring optimisation of Building Management system and utilisation of Energy Remote system (ERM) and benchmarking energy reports. To act on recommendations from this NA ensure good communication and motivational practices take place between colleagues within the department and the NA manage individual performance, being ware of expectations for appraisal and NA identify personal training and development requirements, for self and team, consistent with the hospital business NA be point of contact for all external contractors providing specialist services to building/building services/equipment and manage those contractors whilst on site in line with NA ensure Fire Risk Assessment and all fire alarm/emergency lighting, and fire fighting equipment is maintained according to current legislative NA be the Authorised Person for Low Voltage Electrical Services and ensure the fixed wire electrical installation and appliances are maintained in accordance with current Regulatory Standards, Guidance, Codes of Practice and NA ensure water risk assessment & treatment regimes are in place, including all appropriate measures for prevention of Legionella in accordance with current Regulatory Standards, Guidance, Codes of Practice and NA be the Authorised Person for the Piped Medical Gas System and ensure it is maintained and repaired in accordance with current guidance and NA be the Authorised Person for Decontamination Equipment and ensure all maintenance and periodic testing is carried out in line with current guidance and PolicyTo be the Authorised Person for Heating and Ventilation Systems and ensure all maintenance and validation testing is carried out in line with current guidance and NA ensure appropriate maintenance/testing of all equipment ensuring compliance with current HTM recommendations and NA ensure all remedial works identified in infrastructure, plant and equipment inspection reports are prioritised and completed in a timely NA inform the administration engineering lead regarding the ordering of spares, services and consumables for the engineering NA provide out of hours emergency on-call NA provide in-house day to day maintenance serviceWorking hours: 37.5Essential qualifications, training and experience required:Preferably a Higher National Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or EquivalentServed a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical EngineeringHold relevant certificates or be willing to undertake specialist training in specific areasExtensive knowledge of building services5 years experience in building services managementThey offer employees a market competitive basic salary and bonus opportunity as well as a comprehensive benefits package which includes contributory pension scheme, life assurance, private medical cover, wellness screening, eyesight tests, childcare vouchers, cycle to work gym membership, transport season ticket loans and a motivating workplace NA enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service or Disclosure Scotland will be applied for in the event of a successful app
