Role Overview: We are currently recruiting for a number of positions within our Technical Services team as we grow and strengthen the service we provide to the business. The Senior CAD Technician is responsible for the generation of drawings (in either 2D or 3D), that are produced to the highest standards & in line with the Galliford Try Business Management (Quality Assurance) System (BMS) using AutoCAD software. Key Accountabilities: The preparation & amendment of drawings including:PFDs & P&IDsSite layouts & plansGeneral arrangements, detailed sections & plansSingle line diagramsTo ensure that drawings are completed on time to meet the programme as agreed with the design & project teams (i.e. for feasibility, target cost, construction and as built stages of the project)That any revisions to drawings are correctly recorded for easy reference To maintain the drawings & all subsequent iterations electronically within an agreed computer based serverEnsure that the drawing register is maintained for all drawings related to the projectThe printing & preparation of drawings are compiled to meet project requirements (i.e. throughout the design phases, during construction and at handover to the client)Configuration & implementation of CAD software including liaison with IT personnel & external collaborators to provide an integrated solutionTo generate drawings of an acceptable qualityContinued support to the design & construction teamsRegularly review the CAD procedures (via BMS) to ensure NA regular information exchange between the design team & construction to maximise an effective installation on NA with the design houses & construction partners to ensure that the interfaces are correctly NA for & maintain current knowledge of software trends & technical developments in NA sites to take measurements and obtain a better understanding of drawing requirements (as required).To look for potential problems and areas of improvement in the drawings being produced; and to communicate this effectively to the responsible designer Experience, Skills and Qualifications: BTEC HNC Engineering (or equivalent)To attain the appropriate EngTech or IEng accreditation with the IETHave worked within an engineering environment (preferably M&E within the waste & water industry)Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and proceduresProficient in the use of AutoCAD softwareComputer literacyAbility to plan and programmePrioritise and allocate time according to priorityEffective communication skillsAdministration and record keeping skillsSite H&S awareness In Return: We offer an opportunity to work on some of the UKs most exciting construction projects, in a fast paced environment where each day brings new challenges as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.
