Packaging Technician Corby Monday to Friday 6:30 to 14:00 and then 14:00 to 21:30 (Salary + generous shift allowance, APR Bonus, OT, and Training Development Plan (see below)) RS Components is the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc, the world's leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products. We are now recruiting or an experienced Packaging Technician who will provide a comprehensive maintenance, breakdown and repair service, on a shift basis at our Corby site. Within this role, you will be accountable for Cradle-to-Grave support and management of Packaging and Conveyor technical issues. You will uphold the principles of Continuous Improvement (CI) identifying opportunities for process and equipment improvement. You will work with members of the Facilities team to procure and implement new process improvement equipment from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) where required. You will also safely oversee and liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal resource: including the allocation of work, preparation of required specifications, and ensuring the contractor delivers to them Ensuring all work adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental standards, policies, legislation and other requirements. Communicate updates and changes to all relevant parties and liaise closely with the Operations, Facilities and Projects teams. You will also have responsibility for the coaching, training, mentoring and sharing of experience, and best practice, to others within the Facilities department. Essential Skills: A basic health and safety qualification in electrical safety: able to safely isolate electrical machineryStrong mechanical background: A recognised trade apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience in a mechanised logistics or manufacturing environmentBasic computer literacy: Experience of using Microsoft Office packages, and/or central databases for Planned Preventative Maintenance NA and Experience in the operation, fault-finding and repair of: basic electronics, industrial electrical applications, pneumatics and hydraulics, motor/gear boxes, drives, conveyors, tools and NA to self-manage effectively: planning and prioritising to complete work in a time-pressured environmentExemplifies high levels of commitment to health, safety and environmental NA liaising with, and overseeing 3rd party contractors, ensuring their safety and compliance to procedure Desirable Skills: Qualifications and experience equivalent to Level 3: e.g. BTEC National, award certificate and diploma at Level 3, NVQ Level 3, AS / A-Level standardRelevant experience of installation, repair or maintenance of packaging machines: e.g. Small component bag sealing and labelling machinesSome experience of working on electrical, conveyor, crane or control systems in a time-critical logistics or manufacturing environmentExperience with forklifts, order picker trucks and packing NA recognised Health and Safety training / qualification e.g. IOSHH or NA of materials handling industry best practice for storage and processing conceptsContinuous Improvement Lean Six Sigma qualifications, training or project experience What we can offer In return, we offer an outstanding benefits package, which includes pension scheme, childcare vouchers, life assurance, flexible working and career development to rival any global organisation.
