Due to ongoing expansion, a leading insurance business is looking to recruit a Motor Vehicle Engineer to provide engineering expertise to their motor claims department. This is an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced motor engineer/ VDA to advance their career in a professional office-based environment. Role focus: Correct use of repair methodologyRepair cost controlValidation of vehicle damage in line with incident circumstances and policy cover Key Responsibilities: Reviewing estimates and images for repair, agreeing repair methods and negotiating costsReviewing external engineers reports, resolving valuation disputes and provide technical adviceLiaise with Repairers/Policyholders/Third Parties or their representatives as appropriateProvide technical advice and support to other areas of the businessIdentifying discrepancies with accident damage and incident circumstances to identify potentially exaggerated or fraudulent claimsMaintain a professional image of the companyExcellent customer service through strong internal and external relations Key Desirables: Knowledge of Audatex & Thatcham EscribeWorking background in the motor vehicle body repair industryWorking knowledge of private car and light commercial vehicles is essentialSome knowledge of HGVs, Coaches, Agricultural plant and machinery is desirable but not essentialExperience of carrying out physical and desktop inspections / assessmentsTime management skillsExperience of working in a targeted environmentFocus on providing an excellent customer service and experience Desired Qualifications (current or historic): ATA VDAEng TechCity & Guilds or NVQ (Motor Vehicles)Membership of IAEAMembership of IMI Accountabilities: Deal with estimates, images, referrals, post and telephone calls within agreed Service LevelsEnsure that manual and computer records are accurate and reflecting any changes made in a clear precise manner, including changes in claim estimatesEnsure that referral procedures are strictly followedEnsure that all matters are handled in accordance with instructions laid down in the Claims Handling Manual and amendments issued to itBe aware of and act upon all compliance matters e.g. TCF, Data Protection, Money laundering NA compliance with Lloyds and PRA regulations Support Health & Safety through highlighting issues
