Health & Safety Adviser To ensure Camdens educational premises comply with statutory, best practice and technical requirements we are undertaking an internal audit. This role is a short term contract for three months that is required specifically to work alongside the Technical Compliance Manager to co-ordinate the health and safety (H&S) compliance audit of educational premises. Health & Safety Adviser As an expert on all health and safety issues including, but not exhaustive, water hygiene, gas safety, electrical safety, asbestos and fire safety Health & Safety Adviser will take an active role in assessing statutory and contractual compliance throughout educational buildings. The compliance audit process involves researching and recording H&S documentation at desktop level, undertaking site visits, working with datasheets and databases, undertaking quality assurance checks, producing internal reports and presenting findings and recommendations. The Health & Safety Adviser will play an integral part in the daily tasks involved with the audit process with a key objective to complete and present findings and recommendations to Head of Service in January 2017. The purpose of this audit is to ensure that our educational premises are compliant and are being managed and maintained in accordance with both statutory requirements and the terms of the Council-managed Facilities Management contract, and where this is not evident to provide mitigation measures going forward. The context of this role is with reference to statutory legislation relating to educational premises, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated regulations and orders, European Directive, insurance requirements, international, European and British Standards and Approved Codes of Practice. This role requires technical skills and strong communication skills with an understanding of the educational built environment.
