Currently we are looking for an experienced Quality Manager in Hammersmith to support the Production Director, GMLs and Technical manager by leading the development and improvement of all quality and reliability related aspects associated with the design, development and production of the companys products, covering both internal and supplier based NA responsibilities:- Develop robust Quality assurance and quality control at the production workshop- Develop and implement world class "new product development" Quality Assurance and Planning processes, working closely with the GMLs and Technical manager- Manage the response on customer complaints to ensure excellent customer service, and that "solutions" and future "prevention actions" are robustly introduced- Develop appropriate Quality KPI and use to drive and demonstrate continuously improving performance. E.g. Customer complaint, scrap cost, rework cost- Lead activity in handling key suppliers to ensure good service and development of robust specification and Quality levels. Key supplier here will be in Italy (Italian travel will be required)- Procure and operate a CMM machine for the measurement and QC of complex and detailed components both from the machine shop and shop floor. (possibly train others in future)- Introduce effective calibration systems at the company workshops- Lead specific Quality based projects as agreed with the Production Director- Lead attainment of ISO9001 at the workshopsSuitable Experience & Attributes:- Designing, implementing and operating Quality control within a production environment- Setting up and operating Supplier Quality assurance systems and controls- Implementing suitable Quality KPI to help drive improvement- Handling and processing customer complaints- Design and implementation of testing as part of a quality assurance system- Leading or operating FMEA on steel based components and assemblies- Use of problem solving techniques such as: Ishakawa (fishbone), 5-whys, Plan Do Check Act, and Pareto- Using a wide range of measurement equipment including: micrometers, verniers, hardness testers, surface finish, height gauges, slips, etc.- Use of a CMM - programming for various parts and operation of the machine- Setting up a calibration system for a wide range of measuring equipment- SPC and capability analysis applied to machining processes- Implementing or maintaining accreditation to ISO9001- Leading H&S activity within an organisation- Operating within an ISO14000 and/or ISO18001 accredited organisationQualifications:- Degree qualified, subject such as: Engineering, Quality or science subject (Essential)- Further qualifications in Quality area, e.g. Quality Assurance, Quality Planning (Desirable)Hours of Work:- Basic of 38 hours per week- The role will require some travel around the world, and certainly to NA Up to 60K (Negotiable on experience) - Bonus scheme 10% - Pension- Private healthcare
