Providing niche and custom gas detection solutions since 1981. My client thrive on providing gas detection solutions in the most hostile environments and solving difficult problems to help our customers achieve their goals. Employing over 70 people, based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. The successful Technical Writer will be working in an environment geared towards performance with an open culture that values the contribution of every individual. You will be joining a fast paced working environment, a culture of teamwork with the opportunity to play a vital role in the companys growth. As a Technical Writer you will play a pivotal role in developing, producing and maintaining product guides. You will be responsible for writing and maintaining system manuals, producing training material, providing technical updates and writing military technical specs. Due to the nature of the company and projects, you will be required to pass security clearance to be successful in this role. Job Purpose: To produce high quality technical documentation. Duties & Responsibilities: ? Production of technical and support documentation for products ? Selection and maintenance of bestpractice authoring tools ? Involvement in and continuous improvement of the documentation authoring processes ? Interfacing with other departments, to collate information and materials required for document production General Responsibilities: 1) The ability to understand technical details from Developers, Testers, and Product Owners and to document those details in a way that is easily understood by End Users and support personnel. 2) You will be highly motivated, hard working, innovative, and self reliant, with good interpersonal and communication skills 3) The ability to work fast, flexibly and interact with many different people 4) To support other company departments as and when required to enable the company to achieve its objectives. 5) Personal training and development to complement objectives. 6) Maintaining awareness of the company Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures 7) Understand the importance of the customer in everything we do and carry out all duties in this role in line with Customer Service Policy 8) An ongoing personal commitment to continuous performance improvement and personal development is required of all employees to enable the company to achieve its mission and to continue to build on its tradition of excellence. Desirable skills and experience: 1) Experience with embedded software and military applications 2) Experience with document management systems like Solidworks PDM Pro Career Development (Optional)
