North Midland Construction is a national building, civil engineering and mechanical, electrical contractor with nearly 70 years experience. With our Head Office based in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire we operate through a number of strategically placed regional offices covering the whole of the British Isles; offering clients a one stop shop for their construction requirements. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Proposals Manager will manage the Proposals team processing tenders from receipt to submission. Main duties include accountability for the following: Responsible for the delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframesManagement of the Proposals TeamResource planning and recruitment of new staff to strengthen the TeamManagement of Team Progression. Coach mid-level and junior staff, provide broad technical or functional guidanceMaintain service level KPIsMaintain tender database and Sales Pipeline with all new Client enquiriesEnsure that all tenders are reviewed and that the Companys Pre Tender Evaluation process is followedTender sign off in accordance with the Companys governanceDevelop and maintain a robust tendering NA and review / edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholdersDocument template management in line with company brandingAddress key client requirements and expectations to develop a productive working relationshipEnsure that tenders are properly scoped, identify missing and evaluate assumptions and help to evaluate cost, ensure text and response match NA potential risks and opportunities associated with the tender documentsDevelop supply chain relationships to maximise commercial opportunities and savings during the bid processLead the bid process to ensure timely production of submission documentationCheck & ensure maintenance of a controlled copy of tender document & resultant communicationsOn acceptance of tender by Client check proposed contract reflects the enquiry documents and subsequent offerPrepare and present the commercial handover documents to the contract delivery teamLiaise with construction teams to ensure output & resource data collected providing feedback for future tenders Skills and Qualifications Essential: An industry applicable ONC/HNC/NA or NVQ equivalentCommercial and contractual awareness Strong time management / prioritisation skillsExcellent attention to NA, passion and a driven can do attitudeAn excellent communicatorA high level of diplomacy and customer focusedDemonstrable experience of dealing with multiple clients, forms of contract and methods of measurementA good level of competency of Microsoft packages Desirable: Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries We offer an attractive benefits package in a rapidly expanding forward thinking company.
