My client a leading international infrastructure group is looking to recruit an experienced Temporary Works Project Manager for a multi-million motorways construction in the North East of Scotland ROLE PURPOSE To work with the various sections within the project to deliver technical support and service to site teams. INTERFACES Internal: Senior Temporary Works Engineer, Project delivery External: Designers, site teams, supply chain, JV partners, customers, 3rd parties, consultants ACCOUNTABILITIES Responsible for temporary works design requirements for the project and delivering them to time and budget Investigates alternative designs for temporary works, working with the site team. Reports on the progress of designs Ensure a suitable temporary works design brief and programme of requirements is received Ensure design risks are considered and prepare Designers Risk Assessments, communicating residual design risks as appropriate Ensure that contract-specified design checks are carried out and provide the appropriate manager with completed check certificates Provide strong technical support in value engineering temporary works and in identifying innovative and robust solutions Lead or support temporary works assurance on projects through conducting audits and regular meetings with project teams, identifying best practice, areas for improvement and areas of concern Ensures a relentless focus on Zero Harm Supports the delivery of Sustainability activities PERSONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE (The following qualities/experience are essential): Has thorough knowledge of engineering principles Actively seeking/achieved CEng MICE or equivalent Can demonstrate an awareness of methodology costs and understanding of the importance of option reviews Has previous experience of site based activities Maintains up to date technical knowledge Has strong numeracy capability and able to use analysis software Has strong skills in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel Has good report writing skill Pays attention to detail and will see tasks through to completion Is a team player with good interpersonal and influencing skills Ability to work well under pressure and to tight timescales Is a self-starter who can manage their own time and proactively seeks and executes activities that will add value to their function The following qualities/experience are desirable: A degree in a relevant engineering discipline is desirable; membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous. Holding a valid CSCS card to visit sites is desirable Ability to produce temporary works engineering drawings using CAD software Knowledge of the construction industry or experience within a project based organisation.
