Our client are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Project Engineer (Civils) Contractor for one of their key National Rail clients. This particular role will require a level of flexibility applied when considering office location, and this role will require attendance potentially in offices in both Bristol and Swindon, based on programme schedule and discipline demands. This SPE role is critical in delivering engineering excellence a number of infrastructure projects. It will require good levels of engineering management, co-ordination, and general technical skill, such that it will ensure an integrated solution to these projects. The successful candidate will be leading and co-ordinating the technical delivery across a number of infrastructure project disciplines. About the role The principle duties for this role are as follows: *Undertake duties in accordance with NR/L2/INI/02009 *Interface across all engineering disciplines to undertake design and constructability reviews of the ongoing works, to make sure compliance is achieved to Standards, and work methods are acceptable *Managing and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary projects. *Integrate/review across the delivery programme with all other technical disciplines to make sure the programme's milestone schedule is achievable *Provide technical input to site works *Support the Safety Verification and Entry into Service requirements of the Programme *Undertake Standards and programme procedure briefings *Assess/review competency of Track Field Engineers and Construction Managers *Monitoring of Track Monitoring, CRT and Track Hand-back Engineer acceptance procedures across all disciplines. Key Accountabilities: Implement systems and procedures to deliver a cost effective, high quality and safe approach to design, construction, commissioning and other technical activities on relevant projects. Interface across all engineering disciplines and implement engineering controls and procedures to all projects within the designated portfolio, and check whether all design and construction contracts include reference to appropriate Company standards applicable to their discipline. Apply relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to all projects and check whether the environmental aspects of all projects are managed in accordance with Network Rail Environmental Policy. Monitor all projects for compliance with Company standards and project control procedures. . Advise project and programme management in respect of all construction activities, testing and commissioning, and site supervision. Monitor whether the design and construction elements meet the requirements of legislation, including construction design management (CDM) regulations. Assure whether contractors' design, construction and specialist personnel are competent. Undertake reviews of design and construction activities. Arrange audits of contractors to monitor whether safety and quality of design, construction testing and commissioning and management systems are adequate. Key Requirements: Essential Significant experience in PE duties, working across all engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi discipline areas Experience of major contracting Experience of design principles and reviewing methods Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance Understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of works Technical qualifications to at least HND level or equivalent Membership of a relevant professional institution Desirable Six Sigma Yellow or Black Belt Chartered status or equivalent in the particular discipline Appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works The successful contractor will require the following insurances:- 1 million PI, 2.5 million PL
