Our Corporate Shipbuilding team is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the companys new build projects and we are looking for a Marine Engineer - HVAC to join the already 40 strong NA the HVAC Engineer your key responsibilities will be: Providing, managing and applying technical expertise and resources in the commissioning of passenger cruise NA in the design development, system design and evaluation of equipment specifications to ensure that all statutory and company safety and operational standards and requirements are observed throughout. Maintaining contact and liaising with the relevant departments of Carnival Corporation operating companies as applicableApproving minor technical adjustments as may be found necessary on site and to advise the Principal Manager - Marine Engineering NA the Project Manager in continually updating the specifications of the vessels under construction or conversion to ensure that accurate records of all changes are maintained and that on delivery or re-delivery of the vessels an 'as fitted specification is available. For this position the following skills are essential: Ability to assimilate, critically examine and analyse technical information and make informed recommendations where appropriate;Ability to write precise technical reports and letters;Ability to negotiate specifications and contracts;Ability to present technical and commercial arguments effectively and influence others with regard to such issues;Ability to understand reasonable requirements of the operating company and actively build good relationships;Ability to anticipate issues and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner;Ability to prioritise work and adapt pace of work to business demands;Ability to respect given deadlines;Good level of IT skills, particularly MS Word, Excel (including use of formulas and tables), Power Point and Lotus Notes; In order to be successful within this role you will be educated to degree level. Ideally you will possess a Masters degree in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical, Naval Engineering or Naval Architecture and have experience of working within the cruise NA UsCarnival UK is the UK operating company for P&O Cruises, Cunard Line, Princess Cruises, Seabourn and Holland America.
