Sub Agent - Highways West Midlands Permanent My client is one of the Midlands leading civil engineering groups operating within highways, concrete works, earthworks, water/sewage, flood defence and development infrastructure sectors. Due to a steady increase in partnering agreements my client are seeking to recruit a Sub Agent with a proven track record working for a Civil Engineering contractor. Projects range from 0.5m - 5m and are predominately Midlands based. Role Overview: A vacancy has arisen within our Highways division for a Sub Agent to work on Local Authority Highway schemes. We currently have a significant pipeline of work coming up within the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire region initially High NA is a great opportunity for skilled Highways professionals to be part of a successful and growing division. Key Responsibilities: Day to day responsibility for delivery of projects from contract award to issue of defects certificateTo maintain and maximise quality of service and profitabilityMaintain and enforce health, safety and environmental standards as required by statute and company's safety policiesMaintain and enforce quality standards as defined by statute and the company's policiesTo build long term relationships with clients, joint venture partners, contractors and other key stakeholdersTo build and develop skilled personnel to support the division in the region and cater for future growthEstablish, Maintain and enforce compliance with the current safety legislation and the Company's Health Safety and Environmental PoliciesUndertake role of the Site Safety SupervisorEncourage and lead the Challenging Beliefs Affecting Behaviours initiativeEnsure the site fulfils all obligations for external compliance auditsMaintain the culture whereby everyone is continually seeking to satisfy customer requirementsEnsure systems are in place and used in order that quality of work is to the prescribed contractual and national standardsMonitor the capability of staff and contractors to undertake current and prospective workloads and report to site managementIdentify \ Assist to introduce new processes, techniques and innovations on sitePlan and co-ordinate the projects as allocatedEnsure the correct administering of the Contractual ProcessesEnsure all design and approvals processes are controlled and fulfilledOversee the day to day construction processes and ensure co-ordination within the site team, client and contractorsUndertake traffic management programming and managementAttend external meetings and maintain necessary regular contact with clients and stakeholdersControl and monitor the planning and progress of the worksAdminister the cost forecast, valuation and reporting systems, maximise cash flow and profitabilityImplement strict financial controls on subcontractors, suppliers and operativesPost contract, organise and co-ordinate the undertaking of maintenance workEnsure full participation in staff development review, training and mentoringEnsure the timely reporting of information in line with internal company and external client requirementsManage the project procurement process for suppliers and contractors in line with the divisional processes and commercial best practiseBuild long term relationships with Clients, Joint Venture Partners, contractors and other key stakeholders Experience and Qualifications: Background in Highway Construction, Earthworks & StructuresPrevious experience in site managementIdeally previous experience gained from a main contractorSMSTSCSCS cardThorough understanding of commercial and procurement processesThorough understanding of project planning and monitoring processesThorough understanding of safety, environmental and quality management processes and able to demonstrate positive track recordAble to demonstrate an effective co-ordination strategy for onsite works In Return: We offer an opportunity to work on some of the UKs most exciting construction projects, in a fast paced environment where each day brings new challenges as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.
