Chemence is a leading European manufacturer of high performance adhesives and sealants comprising instant adhesives (superglues), engineering anaerobics, threadlocks, retainers, gasket makers, gas pipe sealants, window and building plastics adhesives, non-staining activators and UV curing products. We are seeking an Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our manufacturing site at Corby. This is a multi-skilled role on days shift with a predominantly electrical bias, requiring the 17th edition qualification; also knowledge of mechanical, PLC and pneumatic work. The role ensures all Production, Plant, Mixing Area, Warehouse and Site equipment is operational and safe for use. Also the refurbishment, installation and commissioning of new machinery; fault-finding and maintenance of machinery such as pumps, motors and control panels together general electrical housekeeping. Also, to adhere to all planned preventative maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure all equipment and machinery is maintained according to company standards. To attend to all machine and equipment breakdowns ensuring minimum down time, and to look for improvements to increase productivity and efficiency. To ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner to both yourself and other employees. Main Duties and Responsibilities To maintain all equipment in a safe manner according to Standard Operating Procedures, to allow the Production, Plant and Mixing Areas meet the production schedule, following planned preventative maintenance instructions, ensuring records are maintained. To attend equipment and machinery breakdowns, identifying root cause, procuring spares and replacement parts as necessary to ensure minimum downtime with maximum cost efficiency. To install new equipment and upgrade/convert existing equipment as required. To continually look to improve the methods of manufacturing, being proactive in identifying ways of increasing performance/efficiency of all equipment on an ongoing basis. To act as part of the Site Maintenance Team, supporting your fellow engineers with all aspects of the business, including site utilities, etc.
