We are improving and innovating in all areas of our business to provide the best service to our customers and we have an opportunity for an Engineering Technician in the Production Operations and Maintenance Department. About the role Our Engineering Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment associated with the supply, treatment and distribution of water. Whats involved in this role Our Engineers are a vital part of the production department; they maintain and operate Treatment plants and pumping stations achieving the highest equipment efficiencies through routine maintenance, breakdown repair and fault investigation and rectification, supplemented with plant improvements. Working as part of a team you will gain experience on a range of process plant and equipment. The successful applicant will also be fully trained for confined spaces and chemical operations work involving the use of compressed air breathing apparatus, training relating to technical aspects of the role will also be provided. As we are a 24-hour operation the successful applicant will also be required to work a standby rota as part of a team of engineers covering evenings, nights and weekends (typically 1 week in 7). Requirements for the role You should have a process plant background and served a recognised apprenticeship or have an equivalent NVQ in mechanical/electrical engineering and be qualified to ONC/HNC level . You will have a proven industrial maintenance background including experience and knowledge of: Electric motors, starters and controlsFlow, level and pressure measurementPumps, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsProgrammable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls Experience of Chemical handling and dosing equipment would be an advantage. Often working unsupervised you will be an enthusiastic and self motivated technician able to resolve problems using your own initiative and technical knowledge. What is Consolidated Pay? Consolidated pay is a single payment that replaces all the separate payments to make up a single remuneration package. It includes payments such as basic salary, overtime, conditioned overtime, callout, shift allowance.
