Adecco are proud to be working with one of our highly respected clients who are looking to recruit a Generalist Health & Safety Business Partner on a permanent basis to join their team in Prescot, Liverpool. The responsibilities of the role are to support the Health & Safety Manager to lead and manage safety across the whole of the Company, keeping up to date with all current legislation. You will be required to develop and promote safety, health & environment best practice and work proactively with managers to establish and maintain safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues and whom may be affected by our business activities. You will be expected to work with colleagues to create and maintain an effective safety culture and establish and maintain good working relationships with the key regulators (Health and Safety Executive, local authorities), contractors, public, tenants, and other stakeholders to ensure all contribute to a safe workplace. Duties will include, but are not limited to: * Assist in the formation and implementation of health and safety plans, setting long and short term objectives, deciding on priorities for improvements and determining appropriate performance standards. * Promote a positive health and safety culture, and the awareness of relevant legislation, codes of practise and good health and safety standards by the development and implementation of policies, procedures, guidance and training. * Advise and assist management on matters concerning health, safety and environmental welfare of employees or others who could be affected by the group's activities including such matters as safe systems of work, hazard identification, risk assessment and hazard control measures and procedures. * Deliver in house training programmes as and when required and undertake coaching and mentoring opportunities with the Co-ordinator - Health Safety and Environment. * To undertake accident reporting duties in accordance with RIDDOR and company procedures, including assisting management with carrying out investigations. * Assist in the monitoring of contractors on site HSE performance in line with CDM regulations * Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented * Ownership and delivery of assigned projects for HSE improvement activities. * Ensure that our Customers are at the heart of everything we do. * To take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), whilst following the Group's Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times. * To work in a variety of locations including premises not directly under the control of the Group * Some flexibility over working hours is necessary to meet the requirements of the job. To be considered for this opportunity you will require the following: -NEBOSH Qualification -IOSH Membership -General health, safety and environment experience, with an emphasis on experience with environment qualifications or experience, in particular audits for ISO 18,000/ 14,000 / 9,000 -Similar Health & Safety experience within a housing / construction environment and CDM knowledge / experience would be NA you would like to apply for this position please submit your application online.
