We understand them, we look after NA are looking for a Building Maintenance & Services Technical Engineer to join our team in Chiswick Park. Its a fast paced and diverse role and when we say that two days are never the same, were not kidding. Just look around our business and its easy to see why. You can find our channels on Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media and were online at NA and via mobile and tablet apps. We sell big name brands for everything from Elemis to Bose, Giles Deacon to Dyson. Reporting to Paul Haylor the Building Maintenance & Services Technical Manager you will provide technical know-how in Building Services Engineering, supporting the engineers and multi-skilled trades in complex fault diagnosis and rectification. In this role you will also manage small projects identified by the Building Maintenance & Services Manager and be a point of contact for service contracts relationship on site. In this role, we are looking for someone who can; Operate, maintain, monitor & interrogate the Building Management System (BMS) programs, software and field control systems to ensure all electrical and mechanical aspects of the building perform effectively and NA up to date with all technical challenges of a modern building implementing as necessaryCarry out design & commissioning of small automation and controls NA PM tasks on HVAC Controls systems. Continually ensure all Energy Saving measures for all Building Services are monitored and modified accordingly producing minor reports on reactive works undertaken and NA building services engineering systems, including the design, calculation and drawing of electrical and mechanical packages for external tender or installation by internal NA that all work carried out is in line with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards, meeting targets for feasibility, performance, costs, quality, safety, legislation and NA Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems to create design plans for buildings services systems, plant and machinery. Designs to be used to help prepare estimates for projects supplying cost, or for maintenance manuals and assembly NA and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, establishing filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date site drawings, including Space planning management across the NA a continuous improvement approach to Building Services Assets to: Reduce equipment downtime, avoiding unplanned maintenance activities, and the number of major repairs, increasing asset life expectancy. Manage site assets utilizing CAFM NA and provide full technical specifications/drawings for all proposed M&E installation works to ensure all works meet the required legislative standards and best practice and ensure all records and documentation are NA with, and assist other departments with project work, such as Broadcasting, providing advice, labour and support, and cost this so it can be NA and adjust the EMS, BMS and lighting systems to ensure QVC is as energy efficient as possible. Design and manage energy reduction projects to show payback and net present value which can be reported to the SMT and used for CRC, Carbon Trust and ESOS purposes. The ideal candidate will have: A background in building services mechanical / electrical engineering design and project NA experience of the Building Regulations and the designing of commercial heating and air conditioning systems to comply with Part NA to project manage the building services element of construction NA of monitoring construction programs and budgets and managing external consultants: Checking and approving external consultants' NA to produce clear concise NA to chair meetings and inspire confidence among a wide range of service NA knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM, Asbestos and NA level PC skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel and experience of designing using design software packages including CAD. Qualified in Electrical and Mechanical disciplinesQualified in electrical Testing & inspectionCertified to the current edition of the IEE regulations and a thorough knowledge of the Electricity at Work ActA thorough knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work ActMinimum HNC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Working to Degree in Building Services EngineeringNEBOSH qualified to the general certificate. Fire or Construction would be a benefitAn environmental qualification such as IEMAQualified as a HV AP, to AP15 ideallyQualified as a LV AP, to AP12 ideallyExperienced in working with TREND and ideally qualified as a 963 Operator or EngineeringCOSHH regulations certificateWorking at Heights regulations certificateF-Gas qualifiedL8 Legionella Awareness qualificationQualified to a recognised project management tool such as Prince 2Ideally attended BIFM training on Building Services, budgeting, space planning, tendering to Level 4 or 5City & Guilds in AutoCAD Level 3 or an equivalent qualificationDriving License The closing date for applications for this role is 21st October 2016 At QVC we see it like this, you spend a third of your life in work, so work happy* Live better
