Project Design Engineer (Sensors, Fluidics, Medical Devices, LabVIEW, MATLAB) Cambridge Neg excellent My client is developing real-time detection and measurement of the level of various chemicals in patients' blood in particular the therapeutic window of drugs used in patients. The product promises a breakthrough in intensive care treatment and this is a fabulous opportunity for an ambitious and creative Project Design Engineer with experience in the following areas: Support execution and management of product development workCreation, management and reporting of product development plansMultidisciplinary Design engineering in a high-tech environmentWork within a multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of the development projectProject planning in the form of Gantt charts, PERT charts, projected budget, etc Responsibilities Manage development projectsContribute to the design of new, and development of existing bio-chemical sensors and associated fluidics systems and test environmentsAid the optimisation of product engineering including sensor environment, sampling systems and NA coordinate and run in-house experimentation for new products and perform appropriate testsAssist and participate in product failure investigationData collection and summarisationPrepare oral and written reports for all product development activities and analyse NA of results and contributionTheoretical and technical insight and supportCollaborate with the test- and development team Education: HNC/HND Engineering discipline plus 5 yrs of experience or degree in Physics / Engineering plus equivalent experience ideally in hands-on practical laboratory work. Proven track record in managing smaller size projectsUse of software tools such as Excel, LabVIEW, MATLAB, VB, Microsoft ProjectExperience of working with quality systems, e.g. ISO13485, or to GMP, GLPExperience in electrochemical sensing, MEMS, microfluidics and/or medical device development is not required but highly desirableFluent in spoken and written English
