Our established and successful client is seeking to recruit a Assembly & Quality Control Manager to join their team. This is a brand new role. Role: To direct and co-ordinate assembly & quality control activities across all sites whilst proactively seeking out process improvements to drive efficiency and cost downs. The role involves working closely with the warehouse management and goods in teams to facilitate the growth plans of the company and its customers. Duties: Developing and managing the process to ensure that any assembly is done quickly, efficiently and in accordance with client deadlines. Management and prioritisation of activity to meet client expectation and deadlines. Establishing and communicating individual and team targets for hourly, daily and weekly re-work for each activity. Monitor and review those targets and take remedial action where necessary. Regular liaison with customer account manager. Managing assembly goods receipt and handover process Setting quality standards for each activity and ensure that quality checking and reporting is carried out. Effective resourcing of activity with permanent, casual and agency labour to ensure the maximisation of resources to ensure that re-works are completed on time and within budget. Carrying out daily briefings to team within first hour of commencing shift. Planning and control of the working area ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Management of the assembly team to include recruitment, training and performance management. Ensuring all H&S procedures are complied with at all times. Ensuring a first class standards of tidiness and cleanliness are maintained throughout the working day. Compilation & reporting of KPIs for monthly review within the management meeting Assisting all areas of the operation with continuous Improvement of processes to enhance service and efficiency Manage and co-ordinate operational activities to ensure the required level of service is provided to both internal and external customers Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of the operation in line with site KPIs Potential risks, problems or product defects to be reported immediately to Line Manager Contribute actively to achieving departmental service level and targets Experience Required Previous managerial experience gained in a fast paced pressurised environment An understanding of process mapping and lean six sigma An understanding of KPIs with the ability to deliver strong results through a team. A knowledge of warehouse systems Strong Leadership and management skills to engage and motivate teams. An ability to effectively manage productivity and performance Excellent organisational skills Be able to keep your operation safe, by developing and maintaining a strong culture of health and safety. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build effective relationships across all levels Ability to develop quality control procedures and train other to ensure complied with First Recruitment Services is acting as an Employment Agency for this Vacancy
