Technical Hardware Engineer 17,000 - 25,000 pa Our client is looking for a Technical Hardware Engineer with either an engineering or window and door production background to work in their expanding window and door hardware product development and testing department in Haverhill, Suffolk. The work involves testing and trials on new and existing product for our client and their customers. Specific training will be provided, to enable the person to gain knowledge and experience in setting up testing rigs, running/recording tests and involvement in the design and development of new product ideas. Training will also involve visiting sites to understand practical problems, at times assisting in remedial work when issues arise. It is intended that the successful candidate will develop in the business, so although previous specific experience is preferable, the most important facet is a willingness to learn, conduct themselves professionally and a flexibility in their approach to work. Basic skills required are as follows: Computer literate - Capable of producing Word and Excel NA approach - Show ability to problem NA machine experience - Able to use a lathe, mill, drill and hand tools safely NA - Able to continue working without NA to progress - Willing to learn new skills and be NA licence and willing to stay away from home occasionally when NA candidate would have a knowledge of window and door products. The successful candidate will report to the Hardware Product Manager. Our Clients objective is to nurture the successful candidate into a well-rounded, highly skilled fenestration industry engineer with practical experience in product testing and test engineering, and in time be given additional responsibility with the chance to progress within the business. Our Client has a wide scope of expertise, and their product ranges are growing constantly, not only due to customer demand but also because of changes in legislation, design and fashion. As well as being a major supplier in the UK, they have distributors and customers across Europe and in other parts of the world, with a subsidiary in the USA and a joint venture business in South Korea. Salary - Depending on what level of experience you can bring to this role the salary will range between 17,000 and 25,000 per annum.
