Taking a lead role with responsibility to design sampling products and solutions from initial inquiry through successful FAT, installation and commissioning. Involved at early stages to work with sales team to support opportunities and then to take a key role in the project delivery team (or run smaller projects in their entirety). Able to conceptually engineer solutions. Take responsibility for all EC&I aspects of a product or project including working with CAD team, producing documentation, attending HAZOPs, running FATs and other activities within skillset.|
This role is predominantly based in the Houston office. Visits to client premises/sites will be infrequent but could involve overnight stays. Potential for some international travel.
Taking ownership of EC&I project design packages and translating the User Requirements Specification into a Functional Design Specification.
Producing a Conceptual Design document and taking this through to detailed design, data sheets and manufacturing support information.
Support sales office with costing, designs and customer relations.
Producing the factory acceptance test documentation, installation support information and commissioning documentation.
Work as part of a team to deliver projects from concept to commissioning, including liaising with various disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Software and CAD in respect to interface design and communicating with suppliers and customers.
Attending meetings with the client for design reviews and progress updates.
Prepare documentation for Formal Safety Assessments and for O&M manuals.
Support/lead FATs and SATs.
Supporting sales with technical quotations and costing.
Review the designs of fellow Engineers.
Previous experience of producing EC&I designs for hazardous area applications.
A working knowledge of NEC/IEC/ATEX and other regulations.
BEng/MEng in EC&I Engineering or an associated discipline.
5 years experience within the oil & gas industry.
