An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Logistics Administrator for a large manufacturing company based in Portsmouth. This role has the flexibility to either recruit and grow an experience individual in this field or re-train an enthusiastic and proactive individual in the requirements and techniques needed to be a Logistics Administrator through an initial period of on-the-job training. The successful candidate will support the logistics department by providing effective administrative, operational or customer service support and maintaining high standards in driving towards company contractual obligations and objectives. |
As a Logistics Administrator your main responsibilities will involve:
- Providing accurate information and support to the Logistics Advisors and Leads.
- Dealing with customer enquiries efficiently and effectivity in a polite manner to provide a high quality service.
- Identifying potential cost saving opportunities.
- Operating and administering IT applications in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Acting as a single point of contact with suppliers and customers.
- Ensuring all payments and deliveries are progressed in a timely manner in accordance with customer KPIs and legislation
As a Logistics Administrator you will be proficient in the use of appropriate IT packages such as Microsoft Office Applications including Word and Excel and IFS. You will have the ability to respond to internal/external customer enquiries, providing information and guidance as appropriate as well as maintain effective relationships with internal/external customers. You will have a high level of accuracy when inputting and cleansing data along with the ability to analyse, maintain and produce data/reports. You will be able to prioritise your workload and meet customer expectations. An understanding of the concept of on time delivery, cost and quality though the successful actions of Supply Chain would be an advantage. You will have excellent two-way communication skills along with previous administration experience within a busy environment. A sound knowledge of warehouse systems and functions and a good understanding of health and safety legislations and practical application would be an advantage.
As a Logistics Administrator you will have the ability to communicate with peers both internally and externally. A good standard of school and further education is required including qualifications in English and Mathematics or equivalent. We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual.
