Job Summary
As a Trainee Electrical Drafter (Assistant Technical Officer) you will work as part of a team to assist with delivery of the Resource Power & Industrial team design projects. This role is a developmental role where you will grow your skill base and acquire a more specialised understanding of drafting and design concepts and processes using AutoCAD.
We are seeking an individual who is enrolled or eligible to enrol in an Associate Degree of Electrical Engineering. In the role of Assistant Technical Officer you will be afforded the opportunity to work part time whilst studying, and be offered assistance with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering and gain on the job skills and experience.

Minimum Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Ability to work as part of a highly motivated team;
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Interest in gaining electrical design knowledge through on the job experience;
  • Producing designs and associated electrical engineering drawings;
  • Develop excellent drawing and checking skills;
  • Liaison with designers and project team engineers to ensure timely delivery of project outputs;
  • Work with lead designer to assist with aligning design standards and processes with the rest of the Resource Power & Industrial business line;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduating from Year 12
  • High achievement levels in Maths and Science subjects
  • Enrolled or eligible to enrol in an Associate Degree of Electrical Engineering
  • Sound skills to use all Microsoft Office packages
  • Interest in drafting and electrical design
