Job Purpose The purpose of this role is to lead and assist in the creation of new products and services for Pole Star. The Product Owner will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the assigned products and services, communicating status and issues, responding to competitive threats, and developing new features to meet the needs of the market. As a member of the product team, you will be at the heart of everything that happens, from small product enhancements through to the implementation of new products and services. Responsibilities · Contribute to the creation of product vision and strategy: · Define lifecycle and market approach for products and services · Articulate the addressable market, market share, volumes and participation strategy · Define key competitors and their USPs · Articulate gaps in the market and Pole Star's participation strategy · Develop and recommend pricing models · Communicate internally relevant news and events in the industry · Define and manage the product's roadmap and backlog: · Define priorities in product improvements and evolution · Create hypotheses and conduct user research · Create and document user stories, personas, and journeys · Work closely with the development team on reviewing detailed requirements · Provide subject matter expertise to the rest of the company as products and services are introduced · For new products and services, create and get approval for business cases. Also define and plan the operational impact of adopting the business plan. · Work closely and effectively with a variety of stakeholders and departments (Sales, Operations, Marketing, Development/QA, Finance, Legal/compliance etc.) · Participate in product launch activities and review public facing materials and messages Required Skills/Experience · Maritime (fleet management/location monitoring services) and/or Financial domain experience is highly desirable. · Extensive product owner experience (or similar roles), minimum of 2 years. · Demonstrated expertise in competitive analysis and understanding of technology trends · Good general knowledge of development life-cycles and experience working in an environment that implements Agile / Scrum for software development · 2 years' experience (or equivalent) of working in a client facing role. · Experience in presenting in person and via web · Strong commercial focus · Passion for technology / Creative/Innovative · Strong communication skills at all levels, with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders · Ability to manage upwards · Proven expertise in managing software and cloud based products · Prototyping skills · Travel to customer and partner sites (10% on average, both in the UK and Internationally)
