To provide engineering operational management and technical automation leadership for the Telecom division, consisting of Utility Automation/SCADA and Networking Services groups. |
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
As an engineering operations manager, the candidate will responsible for staffing all automation projects and providing upper management with continuous staff projections, assisting business development and sales engineering as required, technical write ups and estimating engineering level of efforts for new work, maintaining and projecting training, working with the business line to help identify new opportunities and technologies, budgeting and ensuring staff professional certifications and Smart Utility lab budgets are inline, assist in tracking and reporting on all engineering projects, troubleshooting and resolving project and/or technical issues on projects, ensuring all staff is up to date on required safety, business and technical training, as well as working with the groups to ensure continuous professional development.
As a technical resource, experience in leading medium to large EPC programs for electrical utility automation and SCADA integration systems is required. This also includes conceptual and detailed automation system designs for transmission, distribution, solar and generation substations. Experience required in IP based networking, serial communications, RTU/data concentrator and relay programming, HMI development and testing, as well as factory acceptance and site acceptance testing and documentation. Previous experience working with electrical utility engineering, operations, and testing departments is required.
Candidate must have a deep understanding of legacy as well as current SCADA protocols such as DNP3 and IEC61850, substation LAN/WAN networks and standard industry practices. Candidate must be willing to travel to site for client meetings, factory testing and system testing and commissioning, as required throughout the year.
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience.

Preferred Job Qualifications
10 years of experience performing substation integration and SCADA engineering related duties.
The applicant must have the ability to work in a team environment to meet schedule deadlines and budget targets. Also, attention to detail with good communication, skills both written and verbal, is required.
EIT or PE preferred.
