Hays Recruitment have been retained by a large main construction contractor in their recruitment of a Quantity Surveyor. Established for over 40 years, this contractor is a seasoned professional in the construction industry. Known for their innovative and bespoke design and build projects, they hold a project portfolio with values up to £30m, including hospitals, hotels, office facilities, and commercial outlets. A market leader in the provision of sustainable buildings, my client uses state of the art facilities to produce their bespoke projects. Due to continued growth they now have a need to add a Quantity Surveyor to their Commercial Team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Surveyor you will be responsible for the cost control on a range of projects. Working closely with the client and Operational Team you will ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be degree educated in Quantity Surveyor, and will ideally have at least 5 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role working on large value projects with a main contractor. Strong commercial attitude and excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be dealing with sub contractors and clients on a daily basis. You will spend 4 days per week at Head Office, and 1 day on site in the UK.
