The recruiter is a leading manufacturer of marble and stone products based in East Yorkshire. With over 90 years in the industry this family run form prides itself on delivering a high quality products such as bespoke kitchen worktops, stone flooring and fireplaces within short lead times.
Salary Dependant Upon Experience - from £26k - £30k per annum
In this pivotol role you'll take the lead for coordinating the activities of a team on the Night shift including CNC, Saw, Polish and Edging operations along with ensuring that operations are safe and the team are working to the agreed standards.
Applicants should consider themselves to be experienced machine operators (CNC an advantage) used to producing high quality products or components in a time conscious environment.
Experience of leading/coordinating a team is an advantage but not essential as long as applicants can demonstrate excellent communication skills, take responsibility and have a desire to work to high
1. To coordinate activities across the shift and all main technical areas of the factory including, CNC, Saw Polish, Grinding and Yard
2. To assist in the management of all Health & Safety requirements within the factory on a day to day basis
3. To motivate and encourage the team
4. To lead by example and act as a role model the team
5. To answer technical queries raised by the Team
6. To answer quality concerns raised by the Team
7. To liaise with the planning, technical and customer service teams on customer orders on a shift by shift basis
8. To ensure effective and efficient production methods are employed across the factory
9. To ensure the team follow standard working procedures at all times for their areas of operation
10. To ensure customer quality standards and specifications are maintained and production deadlines are met
11. To monitor the performance of the team and highlight any areas of concern including lateness, absence or performance problems
12. To monitor, record and contribute to the development of factory employees and ensure on-going training and development is incorporated into individual training plans
13. To maintain appropriate production, customer and employee records as required
14. To ensure all necessary administration is completed on time
15. To assist in answering queries regarding the deliveries and pick-ups
16. To open/secure the factory premises and act as key holder
Person Specification:
Minimum of 2 years experience of working in a fast paced production environment (stone desirable), with some experience of either supervising or overseeing the work of others
Knowledge (Desirable)
- Worktop and fireplace manufacturing processes - desirable
- CNC operations working to fine tolerances
- Saw operations
- Yard operations
- Polishing / Grinding operations

- Materials handling and processing
