My client is a National Property Consultancy with clients throughout the UK in the Public and Private sector. Due to an increase in workload they are looking to take on an additional Building Surveyor in Bedfordshire. |
Your main responsibilities will include the following:
Carry out property inspection functions including: The identification of building defects and condition for reports. Carry out measured and level surveys. Asset management surveys including data input to both paper and computer. Assess and advise on fire risk. Carry out roofing inspections. Inspect and report on compliance in respect of Disabled Discrimination Act. Undertake Party Wall work on behalf of clients and advise colleagues of their responsibilities under the Act.
Prepare estimates, specifications, supervise contractors and check and approve accounts. Obtain statutory approvals where needed. Prepare, specifications, AutoCAD drawings for improvement, refurbishment and new build schemes, tender documents, and supervise works to completion including agreeing interim and final accounts.
Carry out and submit Planning and Building Control submissions, including consultation with the local Planning Conservation Officer and English Heritage.
Support and assist in the delivery of projects and programmes of work for clients through individual and multi-disciplinary team work.
To contribute to the operation and development of the Business Management System to ensure the continuous improvement of quality assured services/products for clients.
Essential requirements for applicants:
- You must have experience in a similar type of role with minor project work and dealing with clients
- You will have experience in Party Wall Act and listed buildings
- A minimum of HNC/HND in Building Surveying
- You will have relevant construction and H&S knowledge and be aware of legislation
- previous experience in Asbestos Awareness/Inspection, DDA Auditing, Fire Risk Assessment
You must have a valid UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for business use and be willing to travel to other office locations
