Our Client are currently looking to recruit exceptional teaching staff to join the Education Department at HMP Birmingham and are hosting an Offender Learning Careers Open Day to allow qualifiers teachers an opportunity to take a tour of the facilities, speak with the on-site management team and find out more about the opportunities available.
Working within Offender Learning provides real opportunities to transform lives, by giving offenders the knowledge, self-esteem and confidence to thrive in the world of work.
Education is proven to reduce reoffending rates and improve society within each prison. It`s a crucial part of the rehabilitation process, and often leads to employment or provides the means for self-employment. The College currently have a range of sessional teaching opportunities in the following subjects:

About HMP Birmingham
HMP Birmingham is a category B prison for remand and sentenced adult males. The prison is privately run by G4S, and is also one of the largest in the UK, with the capacity to hold 1,450 inmates.
The Education department is on a positive journey with an enthusiastic and committed approach from both the College and prison colleagues, which has resulted in creating a rewarding environment not only for learners, but also for the staff team, who play a key role in transforming rehabilitation for the learners.
Members of the Birmingham team will receive a comprehensive site induction and regular training events for all staff to ensure that they address areas for development and are familiar with new initiatives.
