Job description

My Client is responsible for delivering the 4.2 billion project to scope, quality, schedule, and budget expectations of stakeholders, including Government, Ofwat, TWUL and the River Thames community.

In advance of the main construction work starting , the Information Services (IS) department is ensuring its IT services continue to be engineered and managed in an appropriate way. They have launched a programme to deliver a SharePoint Online-based solution to streamline, standardise, and simplify our approach to Information Management. It represents a cultural shift, where information is shared-by-default', automating their processes, and bringing new ways of working.

My Client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Training Lead for the programme. The successful candidate will provide emphasis on change, communications, awareness, and learning to ensure that all The Clients staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need in order to use the system effectively. The role will support the Business Change Lead, develop the training plan, appropriate materials, and lead a small team of trainers, floorwalkers and / or coaches.

The Role

The role will include the following responsibilities:

Contribute to the development of an appropriate and innovative training delivery approach and plan/schedule to meet the needs of a fluid organisation

Manage the delivery of training, execute the plan, report on success, and managing risks and issues that may arise

Undertake Training Needs Analysis to design innovative training interventions, which can then be developed and rolled out across the organisation.

Design the training curriculum, including training module definitions and lesson plans

Define and develop the appropriate training materials necessary to support the delivery of the change to a diverse group of stakeholders including internal business users, administrators and contractor staff

Engage business stakeholders as necessary to populate the training environment with sample data necessary for delivering training courses

Deliver effective, targeted, role-based training to ensure that each user has the tools, experience and information they require to operate with new ways of working.

Manage training logistics effectively, taking responsibility for booking facilities, sending invitations, communicating with delegates, managing attendance, and ensuring supporting technology is in place

Assess the quality and effectiveness of training post-delivery

The Candidate

We are looking for a disruptor', someone who can support organisation-wide business change, and bring a range of training approaches. We are open to considering different techniques to providing just-in-time training in a cost-effective manner.

You will ideally have knowledge of the capabilities of e-learning, conducting thorough training needs analyses and evaluating learning interventions at all levels. Candidates will need to have an understanding of and the ability to design for different learning needs.

You will also need a good understanding of learning and development approaches, including course management, and have experience of designing and developing learner-centred training materials, using a range of methodologies, including classroom and blended learning.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the following skills:

Knowledge of Information Management IT systems and business processes

Knowledge of learning approaches and theories

SharePoint Online and Office 365 experience (or similar packages)

Excellent communications, customer focus, and relationship building skills

Excellent verbal and written skills

Good co-ordination and listening skills

Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences

Flexible and adaptable

Team player able to work collaboratively and effectively with and through others, at all levels in an organisation

Reporting Line: The role reports to the IM Business Change Lead

Supervisory Responsibilities: The role has responsibility for managing the training capability that is likely to include a trainer, and floorwalkers / coaches

The duration of the role is ~6 months.
