Business Development Manager


Salary Negotiable + commission + benefits (Travel allowance)

Our client, an internationally leading IT hardware company, is seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will be developing the company's sales for the territory consisting of distributors, indirect resellers and occasionally the corporate/public sector end-user based in UK and Ireland.

Key Tasks

1 To implement account profiling and account plans for each of the designated accounts with revenue, market share, relationship and investment goals.
2 To work closely with the other UK BDM team members, the UK internal sales team and channel marketing to ensure that the objectives for the UK & Ireland territory are met.
3 To identify and develop new business opportunities with the company's distribution and reseller partners and to maintain/grow market share.
4 To follow up on any sales opportunities identified by the internal sales team and the marketing team.
5 To attend corporate and public sector end-user visits when required to sale the company's business.
6 To identify any special bid opportunities and liaise with internal sales on special bid pricing. Follow up and close the business.
7 To work with the UK channel marketing representative to design and implement a marketing plan the channel partners; To conduct regular training sessions with all channel partners.
8 To follow through marketing plans with channel marketing manager and to measure return on investment.
9 To understand competitors, identify and take advantage of any business opportunities.
10 To be the escalation route for any issues that cannot be resolved internally.
11 To complete visit reports and call reports.

Key skills & requirements

1 Minimum 2 years field sales experience within UK IT distribution and reseller channel or from IT vendor background.
2 Fluency in English (business level)
3 Self-motivated and target-oriented
4 Good presentation and numerical skills
5 Experience in managing turnover, market share and margin goals
6 Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
7 Full and clean UK driving licence
