Software Engineer: About the role
Abcam is looking for an Associate Software Engineer with support focus. This is a great opportunity for somebody in the early stages of their career looking to gain exposure to a wide variety of systems and software principles as part of a fun and agile team.
We`re looking for somebody with a passion for problem solving and willingness to tackle a broad array of challenges. As part of an established agile development team you will work alongside other software professionals and business users to support and maintain a wide variety of bespoke software systems and integrations.
To perform this role a successful candidate will require excellent communication and prioritisation skills along with a strong technical proficiency.
Previous experience in any of the following is advantageous; C#, ColdFusion, MS SQL, Oracle SQL, ESB or ERP (Oracle is preferred).
Software Engineer: About the team
We are on a journey of a multi-year investment in our core IT systems and need technology specialists to support the team.
Our architectural landscape which supports our industry leading E-Commerce engine will consist of in-house agile developed, web-based systems (C#, MVC, SPA and Java) utilising middleware solutions (WebMethods) to incorporate Oracle Cloud ERP as well as other packaged systems (Cloud and On-Premise).
We are a very social, multinational and passionate team and after working hard then there`s time to unwind with a bit of table tennis!
Software Engineer: About You
You will have demonstrable experience of supporting IT systems and software development. You will need to be an excellent communicator, team player with a "can do" attitude.
Someone with some software development experience would be ideal as would someone who has experience of supporting various web architectures, platforms, and integrations.
This role would suit someone starting out their career in software development and / or application support. You will be comfortable talking to non-technical users and happy to make decisions on priority.
