Primarily responsible for maintaining and developing their bespoke PHP web platform with additional responsibility for managing, maintaining and improving the web infrastructure (Linux on Azure).
Planning and delivery of web and infrastructure projects to add functionality to or improve performance of our websites.
All work has a commercial focus, and you will work closely with Marketing as well as IT to deliver business improvement.
Input into technical direction of web team and adoption of best practices for delivery and deployment of website projects.
Unit and integration testing of codebase and web platform.
Other ad-hoc duties as and when required by the business
Successful candidates must have experience of developing web software in a commercial environment and can work, contribute and sometimes lead as part of a web development team. You should have a rational, scientific approach to problem solving
PHP Programmer Skills & knowledge Essential
PHP programming to a high level, including sound knowledge of object-oriented programming principals Desirable
PHP testing frameworks
Ability to configure maintain and manage Linux servers
Git (or other version control)
HTML/CSS1 Qualifications General education
Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent
