Modelling Engineer - Controls|
Based in Staffordshire
A global power distribution company is seeking to recruit an additional Modelling Engineer within their controls department to develop world-class models of power systems. This is a newly created position along with Embedded Software Engineers, Firmware Developers and Project Leads, highlighting the growth that the department is experiencing currently.
The position will be developing models of plant equipment, converters, power electronics to test control and protection software. It will require working to bespoke client specific parameters and functions whilst incorporating standard modules.
You'll be responsible for designing, developing and documenting simulation library modules using Matlab and Simulink. The role will require you to maintain and troubleshoot, define validation and verification activities and correlate results for other simulation models. You'll be involved in the development in engineering processes, best practices and working methods within the department.
Requirements as Modelling Engineer:
> Degree qualified (or an equivalent qualification) in a power system or control system discipline
> Previous experience developing models/simulation for power systems
> Model based design techniques in Matlab or Simulink
