General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for Software Integrator to join our Missile Defense National Team (MDNT). The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to build and further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems software systems and applications. Key Responsibilities

Software Integrators conduct or participate in the research, design and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms. Responsibilities also include enhancements, modifications and corrections to existing software. In addition, these employees are responsible for coding, testing, integrating and documenting software solutions. Specific tasking will include but are not limited to installation and configuration of Linux and Windows HW platforms from the OS up to the C2BMC developed applications, documentation and verification of all installation and configuration steps in documentation to be delivered to the customer, develop installation scripts to automate the system installation, develop test plans/procedures for software integration test conduct, be responsible for integration/execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports, coordinate execution of SW integration tests to verify system operation, work with software developers as needed to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration, submit problem reports for errors found, implementing Information Assurance directives on the systems to include running IA scans and coordinate daily integration activities with other local team members.

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Occasional travel will be required for this position including support to installation and checkout at customer sites (including OCONUS)

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems software solutions.

The Software Integrator - MDNT position requires a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering or equivalent experience and at least five to eight years of related experience; or masters degree and three to five years of related experience.

Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is REQUIRED at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Must be Department Of Defense (DOD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 (or higher) compliant by demonstrating Security+ Continued Education (CE), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials Certificate (GSEC), Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Security Certified Network Architect certifications

  • Previous experience in the integration of separate software components into a single system

  • Experience integrating complex applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms

  • Experience with Linux and Windows system administration including installing and configuring systems from the OS level up

  • Experience with VMWare systems administration and installing and configuring VMWare from the ground up

  • Experience with Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system

  • Experience with scripting languages (developing, debugging and maintaining)

  • Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code

  • Must be able to write clear, concise system installation and configuration instructions

  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with software developers, system administrators, and analysis and test engineers.
