General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems and client technologies. Key Responsibilities
Senior Systems Engineers will interact with users, domain experts, designers, and testers to produce Command, Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) use cases and UML artifacts that specify system behavior and non-functional rules and constraints. Coordinate with specialty engineers to integrate safety, security, human factors, and mission assurance. Coordinate with users and business process engineers to integrate operational procedures with system behaviors. Manage requirements traceability. Work with test engineers to specify, verify, and analyze test cases and test results. Track and resolve engineering change requests. This candidate will be the functional engineer in developing C2BMC Situational Awareness and Infrastructure requirements and will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of tasks including requirements analysis, use case analysis, test case definition and test analysis, and specialty engineering.

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.

The Senior Systems Engineer position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Engineering (CPE), or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience and at least four to six years of related work experience. Applicants with a master's degree and a minimum of two to four years of related experience are also eligible.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess systems and software engineering skills, including familiarity with use cases, requirements analysis, Object-oriented analysis and design (OOA&D), software architecture/development methodologies, and UML.

  • Business process analysis, use case analysis, Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling, and quantitative analysis.

  • Experience with modeling tools such as Rational Rose/XDE, Popkin System Architect, etc.; change management tools such as Rational ClearCase, CVS, etc.; traceability tools such as DOORS; and issue tracking tools such as Rational ClearQuest.
