General Dynamics Mission Systems has a planned future opening for a Network Engineer to join the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT). This position provides an opportunity to develop cutting-edge technology in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Our GDMS employees work closely with the MDA to develop the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS); to include the deployment of the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) system. The Network Engineer will analyze, design, develop and test C2BMC networks to ensure the successful integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety, security and other requirements related to the total engineering effort. Candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for integrating, testing, sustaining, and operating C2BMC networks. Candidate will be required to travel to remote locations, in and outside of the United States. Individual will be expected to perform network installations in accordance with Program configuration management processes and will work independently to perform troubleshooting and provide status updates to program personnel and stakeholders. The engineer will be embedded with the network design team in Colorado supporting lab-based development and integration testing.
The Network Engineer position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Network Engineer position requires a bachelor's degree in Network Engineer, Computer Science, Software, or the equivalent and at least eight to ten years of related work experience. Applicants with a master's degree and a minimum of six to eight years of related experience are also eligible.
Department of Defense secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
