General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Software (SW) Developer to join the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT). The position provides an opportunity to develop cutting-edge technology in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Our employees work closely with the MDA to develop the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS); to include the deployment of the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) system. The developer will be responsible for developing software components of a large simulation system in a small team environment. The engineer responsibilities include design, implementation, integration, and testing as well as support of the software development life cycle. The developer will participate in peer reviews, development of documentation and compliance with configuration management practices defined by the project level process plans.
Travel will be required to other Command, Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) development sites - especially Crystal City, Virginia (VA) during the program transition phase.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to work independently and will possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment. Applicant should have a thorough familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Travel will be required to other Command, Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) development sites - especially Crystal City, VA during the program transition phase.
The Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Software (SW) Developer Engineer position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience and at least eight to ten years of related work experience. Applicants with a master's degree and a minimum of six to eight years of related experience are also eligible.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
