General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a BOFORS 57MM Mk110 Gun Maintenance Technician to join our team. Key Responsibilities

The BOFORS 57MM Mk110 Gun Maintenance Technician will engage in troubleshooting efforts and will report anomalies to technical management, create problem reports, and maintain equipment status logs. The candidate will perform a variety of duties in corrective maintenance, emergent repair, and preventative maintenance involving BOFORS 57MM Mk110 in support of Littoral Combat Ship (LCS).The candidate will be responsible for the status and grooming of the assigned system to prepare for test. The candidate will also support regression testing as assigned.

This position will require the ability to work from tech manuals, vendor documentation, schematics, and engineering drawing to supports the ship's BOFORS 57MM Mk110 Gun maintenance efforts. The 57MM Mk110 Gun Maintenance Technician will be expected to be proficiency in schedule maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance procurers as it relates the MK 110. The 57MM Mk110 Gun Maintenance Technician will be based in San Diego, and will support the ship, including travel to other domestic ports and OCONUS ports as appropriate. The selected candidate will be expected to travel 30% of the time supporting Littoral Combat Ships (LCS-class ships) in a post-delivery environment. The candidate will work within the parameters and rules common to U.S. Naval vessels.

  • Additional duties may be assigned, including but not limited to logistics, material, and safety responsibilities as it relates to the 57MM Mk110 Gun

  • The candidate may be responsible for working with a team of technicians, engineers and goverment staff as appropriate

  • Exercise creative thinking to advance our technical performance

  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customer's changing business needs

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of advanced electronics systems, and the ability to further advance and support General Dynamics Mission Systems network technology.

This individual must hold bachelor's degree in engineering or have a minimum of 5 years experience with the 57MM Mk110 Gun or have the following NEC's 0878 , 0879, or 0880. They must possess and demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of integration, installation, operations, maintenance and testing of Gun Weapon systems used in US Naval programs.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred within a reasonable amount of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
