General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge equipment and systems that support some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to build and further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technologies. The Senior Engineering Technician tests, analyzes and repairs General Dynamics Mission Systems engineering, network and telecommunications technologies, as well as other technical issues that impact operations. This individual is also responsible for the planning, build out, calibration, installation and maintenance of the organizations equipment, components, devices and systems. Senior Technicians on our Engineering team may also be asked to develop test specifications and procedures and are sometimes tasked with report preparation and documentation of technical issues.
Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively develop and manage General Dynamics Mission Systems equipment and processes.
The Engineering Senior Technician position requires a technical associate degree or equivalent industrial training. A minimum of five years related work experience is required.
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
