We are looking for a customer support engineer to provide engineering support to Aston Martin customers on event and complement Aston Martin Racing Engineering Team at base.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support to customers on events and tests as required
  • Ensure efficient operation of the car and engine by the customer
  • Provide technical input to the customer to assist with car setup and strategy
  • Advise the customer to ensure their parts requirement is sufficient to achieve their objectives
  • Provide scheduling information for purchasing to ensure efficient parts manufacture and supply
  • Advise customers on technical and parts updates
  • Make adjustments to engine mapping and track strategies to suit relevant circuits
  • Collate and analyse data recorded from the data logger
  • Prepare post event report, documenting event information highlighting any issues and suggested follow up actions
  • Progress actions following an event to ensure issues do not reoccur
  • Provide Engineering support to core Engineering team, including analysis, CAD, Dyno testing and rig testing

Education / qualifications

  • Educated to a degree level in a Mechanical Engineering discipline from an IMechE recognised University
  • Three years’ experience within a professional motorsport environment
  • Relevant track support experience within a professional team
  • Conversant with data acquisition systems such as PI and engine management systems such as Pectel, Magnetti Marelli or Bosch
  • Have a reasonable understanding of fundamental principles of engine operation and chassis control
  • Particular experience in suspension, body shell and driveline components would be a significant advantage
  • Management skills
  • High level of self-motivation
  • A flexible attitude towards working hours and changing priorities
  • Able to stay calm in high pressure situation
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work load
