Morson International is recruiting on behalf of a Large Rail client for a number of Site Supervisors based in Lancashire.
Key responsibilities:
  • Demonstrating effective control of the immediate workplace. Managing but also working collaboratively as part of the labour force and alongside sub-contractors
  • To set an example by complying with Policies and Procedures for Health, Safety and Environment. Ensure workforce safety (subcontract and direct labour). Ensuring the workforce are briefed on relevant safe systems of work for the work activity and that all are competent and trained to undertake their specific trade
  • Ensuring safe practice and minimal disruption to the immediate environment whilst also ensuring the programme of works is completed
  • Ensuring effective and efficient use of tools, plant and materials. Taking accountability for safety, serviceability and usage of equipment by the workforce
  • Quality Management. Understand your requirements with respect to the quality standards and ensure these standards are achieved on site
  • Maintaining accurate records for work performed, problems experienced, resources, instructions to / from client, subcontractors and third parties
  • Demonstrating Commercial Awareness by ensuring accurate allocation of resources in accordance with the Project Cost Code System
  • Subcontract Management. Demonstrate that you understand the subcontract packages and ensure that all subcontractors under your control fulfil their contractual requirements
  • Developing and managing your own performance and professional development ensuring regular review
  • Have proficient knowledge of construction methodologies and the ability to implement them for the work under your control
  • To maintain a good working relationship with Client staff
  • To maintain and operate Network Rail Safety Critical Procedures
Person Specification
  • Excellent communication skills, including drafting of written documentation
  • Quick learner
  • Adaptable, motivated and uses own initiative
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Interest in technical subjects
