Policy Delivery Manager, Regulation, Regulatory, Energy, Policy Manager, London|
Morson International is pleased to be offering this exciting opportunity on behalf of our client, we require a seasoned Policy Delivery Manager based in Central London on a full-time permanent basis. The objectives of this role are to:
-Ensure that policy and regulatory requirements with respect to the energy sector schemes are reflected in business processes;
-Identify, assess and report strategic regulatory risks arising from changes to existing processes or potential business developments;
-Identify and evaluate the impacts of emerging policy on the organisations and provide a pipeline of future policy changes to the CEO, operational teams and business analysts which in turn informs Board-level discussions on company strategy; and
-Use operational insights and experience of implementing energy policy to advise the Government on its future policy development in relation to the electricity sector.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Certifications:
-Good understanding of the current UK energy policy landscape and regulations;
-Good understanding of the UK electricity sector and key organisations within it, such as the System Operator, TNOs, DNOs and the regulator Ofgem.
-Good understanding of the legislative process in the UK.
-Expertise of working with policy-makers
-Good working knowledge of the policy development process and how to influence it.
-Familiarity with other government department processes and timelines.
-Able to quickly review lengthy policy documents and analyse how they might impact the business.
-Expertise of explaining and presenting complex technical or financial information clearly and demonstrating its relevance to a particular policy issue.
-Expertise of working with a range of stakeholders, ideally within the public and utilities sectors.
-Ideally, some awareness of applicable Government policies likely to impact on the energy landscape.
-Maintain the list of policy and regulatory requirements that the business is delivering and track compliance;
-Provide advice to departments on the regulatory risks arising from their activities;
-Maintain and share across the organisations a log of the pipeline of policy changes that might impact on their activities;
-Work with departmental heads and business analysts to provide impact assessments on any policy change requests from government, Ofgem or other delivery organisations;
-Manage relationships with other key stakeholders and industry Partners.
-Able to work effectively with external stakeholders, such as Government representatives, delivery partners and subcontractors and represent the companies.
-Thought leadership and cross-department working to solve complex problems.
-Able to work flexibly within a wider team and contribute positively to team working.
-Able to advise others within the business on compliance issues and on future policy developments.
-Able to escalate appropriately.
-Inter-personal skills to communicate clearly and effectively and to contribute to meetings.
-Analytical and methodical but pragmatic manner with a proven ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and complete work.
