About the role
Leading the largest underground production fleet in Australia, the Superintendent Mine Production is a crucial role at Olympic Dam and will play a significant part in ensuring the ongoing success, safety and profitability of our operation.
Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam on an 8/6 roster however a FIFO arrangement may be approved for the right candidate.
Reporting directly to the Manager Mine Production, you be leading a team of over 350 personnel, operating production plant, equipment and infrastructure overseeing compliance with operating standards, procedures, work instructions and defined processes to achieve optimal production outcomes.
Strong engagement of your workforce will enable you to improve work practises and generate ideas for the continuous improvement program. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Execution Load & Haul, Drill & Blast, Maintenance and Engineering will allow you to prioritise the improvement programs and ensure your resources are deployed efficiently.
Above all else, you will be an excellent leader who both inspires and leads change through engagement, and be able to demonstrate a proven ability to build a diverse culture of high performance, focusing on effective delivery and strong accountability. You will be expected to challenge and drive continued improvement on cost, capital and productivity initiatives
While not essential, you will ideally be tertiary qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, have previously managed sizeable teams and have significant experience in an underground operation.

Olympic Dam is located approximately 10 kilometres from Roxby Downs, a community of 3,500 people with an active and progressive community network. Roxby Downs is home to a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.
