Electronics Engineer

Reports to: Electronics Team Leader

  • Development of electronic products for safety systems, as part of a Research & Development team in a World-leading multinational organisation
  • Design electronic circuits for safety system components
  • Plan and conduct design qualification testing
  • Liaise with other departments including Draftsmen, Technical Authors & SQA
  • Liaise with Factory Production Engineering and Test Engineering
  • Support manufacturing during new product introduction
  • Maintain adequate knowledge in relevant technical development
  • Give assistance to Field Support Department in resolving installation problems
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers, including approvals organisations
  • Comply with Company standards & procedures
  • Job may involve co-ordination of small projects
  • Job may involve some International travel

Knowledge & Experience
  • Digital / Microprocessor electronics
  • Analogue electronics
  • Experience in any of the following fields is favourable
  • EMC design
  • Electrical Safety
  • Design for manufacture
  • Digital and/or Analogue Simulation tools (e.g. SPICE)
  • Embedded Software
  • Type testing or approvals
  • Experience of design for compatibility with International Standards
  • Field Bus design
  • Fire or Security industry
  • Project Management
  • Sensor physics
  • Good English
  • A minimum of 3 years in Research & Development

Training & Qualifications
  • University Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar

  • Interpersonal skills to operate in a small team and with other teams
  • Good communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Highly motivated
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques
  • Quick to learn
  • Tenacious in problem solving
