Job Summary
The LA Metro finance team is actively seeking an experienced project accountant/cost analyst for an immediate opportunity in our downtown Los Angeles office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
  • Provide local financial oversight and support on a high volume portfolio with multiple project managers crossing various business lines
  • Assist Project Manager regularly with project setup, project monitoring, system updating and closeout
  • Ensure all costs are reflected accurately and in a timely manner
  • Assist project managers with the preparation and update of the EAC for all active projects
  • Work proactively with project managers to monitor and correct project financial issues as they occur
  • Engage in regular meetings with project managers and/or project delivery teams on the status of projects
  • Participate in project review preparation, execution and follow up
  • Understand month end events to ensure they are prepared completely and processed accurately and timely
  • Understand the commercial and billing requirements of the projects; ensure project set up accurately reflects proper billing requirements
  • Assist PAMs with internal and external audits
  • Local travel may be required to support other offices

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related
  • 2 years of related experience as a Project Accountant administering multiple projects of varying sizes
  • Industry experience in engineering/architecture/construction
  • Proficient computer skills on MS Office and accounting software
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Detail oriented individual with strong analytical, written and verbal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly with an ability to see the "big picture"
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and promote a team environment
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must be local to LA office location

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Oracle to deliver projects is desirable
  • Experience with Prevailing Wage is a plus
