We provide professional services in areas such as aviation, transit, freight rail, highways and bridges, planning, and ports and marine. As a Cadet Drafter (Technical Assistant) you will work as part of a team to assist with delivery of civil engineering design projects. This role is a developmental one where you will grow your skills-base and acquire a more specialised understanding of drafting and design concepts and processes using AutoCAD and 3D modelling.
In the role of Technical Assistant you will be expected to complete external studies in an Associate Degree in Engineering whilst gaining valuable on the job skills and experience.
• Ability to work as part of a highly motivated team;

• Problem solving skills;
• Interest in gaining civil design knowledge through on the job experience;
• Producing civil designs and associated engineering drawings;
• Develop excellent drawing and checking skills;
• Liaison with designers and project team engineers to ensure timely delivery of project outputs;
• Work with lead designer to assist with aligning design standards and processes with the rest of the transport business line;
• Maintain a minimum pass level in Associate Degree (external studies) to achieve successful completion of this qualification.
•Basic proficiency in using AutoCAD with a low error rate
•Sound skills to use all Microsoft Office packages
•Interest in 3D modelling and 2D drawing extraction
