Architectural Technologist/Technical Architect |
Salary: £30 - £38 K per annum, Dependent on experience. 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 9.00 am -5.30 pm with One Hour Lunch break.
Our client is a vibrant and successful Architectural Consultancy firm working in varied sectors of the industry including Residential, Industrial, Educational and Commercial sectors. They are seeking an Architectural Technologist or technically minded Architect with the right level of experience and attitude to join them and play a crucial role in delivering high quality solutions to an exciting array of projects. The right candidate will form part of their friendly, hardworking team with a head office situated in an idyllic, rural location near Ashford, within easy reach of the M20.
Your primary responsibilities will be to undertake working drawings packages and planning applications.
You will be client facing, undertaking site visits to understand any constraints and pinpoint any specific issues that could affect designs or developments and assessing survey requirements. You will be producing high-quality feasibility designs, planning and technical working drawings and specifications, liaising with local authority Planning and Building Control departments to ascertain their requirements, whilst working to maintain the Client's brief, negotiating where required on build-ability and cost control.
Development of drawings for planning permission and working within U.K Building Regulations and standards whilst paying consideration to the requirements of any specialist Engineers, MEP or structural requirements whilst your drawings will maintain a focus on technical detailing, build ability and cost awareness.
Key Experience and Awareness
-CIAT/RIBA accredited Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology desirable, but not essential but based on experience.
-Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite
-Good working knowledge of BIM desirable, but not essential.
-Development of drawings for U.K Building Regulations.
-Experience in production of detailed drawings for construction, production of specifications
-Consideration of health and safety implications of designs, undertaking of designer risk assessments.
-Understanding of subcontract/specialist budget enquiries to aid with design development/cost awareness.
-At least 3-5 year's relevant experience and a UK driving licence.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, dynamic and highly organised. They will possess proven problem solving and decision making abilities along with excellent team negotiation, co-ordination and communication skills.
